Pairs wonderfully with sides like grilled vegetables, rice pilaf, or a crisp garden salad.

Ingredients

  • 4 Maine lobster tails, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 pound center-cut sirloins, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon honey powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (garnish)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (garnish)
  • 4 Metal or 6 Wooden skewers (if using wooden skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions

1. Combine the steak, lobster meat, olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a large bowl. Mix well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly coated. Marinate the mixture for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for maximum flavor.
2. Preheat the grill and make sure your grate is oiled to prevent sticking from the marinade.
3. Thread the marinated steak and lobster meat onto the skewers, alternating between the two ingredients. Ensure the pieces are packed closely together on the skewers for even cooking.
4. Place the skewers on the preheated grill, taking care to leave some space between each skewer. Grill for approximately 5-7 minutes per side or until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness and the lobster meat is cooked through. Rotate the skewers occasionally for even cooking and browning.
Once cooked, carefully remove the skewers from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
5. Once cooked, carefully remove the skewers from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
6. Garnish the lobster and steak kebabs with chopped cilantro and green onions.
7. Serve the Surf and Turf Skewers immediately, allowing your guests to enjoy the succulent combination of flavors.

Tips from the chef:

  • When choosing steak, look for a well-marbled piece that will provide tenderness and flavor when grilled.
  • Soaking the wooden skewers in water helps prevent them from burning during grilling.
  • Feel free to adjust the level of spiciness by increasing or decreasing the amount of cayenne pepper.
  • For more citrusy freshness, squeeze extra lime juice over the kebabs before serving.
