Lobster Flavor Boost
You may be asking yourself, “why would you put Maine lobster in a grilled cheese sandwich?”
To which we’d argue – “Why not?”
When you think about it, Maine lobster has all the tools to make a grilled cheese sandwich go from basic to gourmet. Maine lobster has a sweet, buttery, and delicate flavor profile that ideally matches your favorite cheddar cheese's sharp and tangy flavors.
Even better, using a crunchy, salty, and buttery bread can further enhance the flavors as well, making something extraordinary from the first bite!
Ingredients
Below is an ingredient list designed for feeding four people:
- 8 Slices of Bread. (Try either Country-Style or Sourdough for the best results.)
- ½ a stick of grass-fed butter at room temperature.
- Fresh chopped herbs of your choice. Though we recommend parsley, chives, and tarragon.
- Twenty-eight slices of sharp cheddar cheese.
- 1lb of pre-cooked lobster meat.
Making the Sandwich
First, roughly chop your pre-cooked lobster meat into bite-sized chunks of approximately ½ of an inch before setting it aside.
Then, grab your bread slices and butter one side of each slice. Once done, flip the bread over to the unbuttered sides and grab your cheese and lobster meat. Begin layering your cheese slices, lobster meat, and chopped herbs like so:
- Cheese
- Lobster Meat
- Cheese
- Chopped Herbs
- Cheese
Once done, take the other half of your bread slices and top each sandwich with bread with the buttered side up.
Next, grab a large skillet with a heavy bottom and place it on your stove-top on medium heat. Once sufficiently hot, grab a sandwich and place it on the skillet to cook the sandwich until the bread has become golden brown and the cheese is melted. Try doing this one sandwich at a time to ensure the best results, as this will allow you to continuously flip the sandwich over to prevent burning.
Overall, the sandwich should spend roughly 3-5 cooking per side. If the cheese isn’t melting fast enough, try placing a lid over the skillet to speed up the process.
Once done, serve on a plate and enjoy! We guarantee you’ll remember this sandwich for years to come!
