How To Celebrate Mardi Gras at Home

Updated for Mardi Gras 2021

Laissez les bons temps rouler (Let the good times roll!)

Fat Tuesday is just around the corner. Even though the parades and events in New Orleans have been paused this year, you can still celebrate at home, when you bring Mardi Gras festivities and flavors to your neck of the woods...

Host a (drive by) parade

What better reason to give everyone on the block a little fun and excitement? Besides, the kids will love it! Invite your friends and neighbors to each deck out their vehicles in Mardi Gras flair, pick a time to drive through your neighborhood, and put on a drive-by parade in French Quarter-worthy style.

Cook like a Creole

They say that Mardi Gras is a state of mind...so be there in spirit with some southern flare in your kitchen. Here's some recipes we love that'll spice things up:

Organize a "Yardi Gras"

Adorn your front porch with beads, glitter and all things Mardi Gras. Make some spicy Creole food, and whip up a batch of Hurricane cocktails to wash it all down. Get all garbed up in purple, gold, and green, and celebrate Fat Tuesday at home. Get your favorite peeps to join in the fun by hosting a virtual Yardi Gras, and go all out!

Fat Tuesday is a celebration of life...

A time to push the stresses of life to the side, loosen up, and fully indulge in food, drink, and laughter...so though we may find ourselves celebrating Mardi Gras 2021 at home, let's make a point to indulge to the 'nth degree.
